Create a connection in HyperTerminal
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Programs' and select 'Accessories'.
3) Select 'HyperTerminal'. (The 'HyperTerminal' window appears.)
4) If HyperTerminal is not available, use Control Panel to add this application.
a) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
b) Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'.
c) Double-click the 'Add/Remove Programs' icon.
d) Click the 'Windows Setup' tab.
e) Select 'Accessories'.
NOTE: Select the word 'Accessories' and not the check box.
f) Click 'Details...'. (The 'Accessories' dialog box appears.)
g) Select the 'System Monitor' check box.
h) Click 'OK'.
i) Click 'Apply'.
5) Double-click the 'HyperTrm' icon. (A 'New Connection' dialog box appears.)
6) Type the name of the new connection in the 'Name' box.
7) Select an icon from the 'Icon' list box.
8) Click 'OK'. (The 'Phone Number' dialog box appears.)
9) Select the country from the 'Country code' drop-down list box.
10) Type the area code in the 'Area code' box.
11) Type the phone number in the 'Phone number' box.
12) Select a modem from the 'Connect Using' drop-down list box.
13) Click 'OK'. (The 'Connect' dialog box appears.)
14) Click 'OK' to accept the port settings.
